The Finnish-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) arranged a networking event together with Greater Lantana Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday the 22nd of April. The idea was to enable our members to create contacts with Lantana members, and to promote the opportunity for a joint membership of the two Chambers. With only an additional $50 to the regular membership fee, our members will get a membership with the Greater Lantana Chamber of Commerce. This is very advantageous, since being a member of both Chambers adds visibility for local small businesses without a significant monetary investment. The president of Lantana Chamber of Commerce, David Arm, gave a good example of their member, a local company who was surprised to have no Finnish customers although there are many Finns in the Lantana area. The company decided to opt for a joint membership to be able to network with our members, many of them who are Finns.
The event was a great success. We’d like to thank Callaro’s Steak House for offering us a lovely space and amazing appetizers that everyone enjoyed. The atmosphere at the event was very warm and you could hear a lot of people mixing and mingling with one another. Me being a new intern and not really knowing many people or businesses here felt warmly welcomed and got a chance to talk to many different people representing companies from different industries.
As a proof of the event being successful and liked, we got statistics from our member Happy-Or-Not’s customer satisfaction measuring solution. The participants got to press smiley faces when leaving the event according to how they felt about the event being worth attending. Out of 21 attendees, 20 rated the event as a very positive experience and one rated it as positive. We got no negative feedback or constructive criticism whatsoever. We greatly appreciate your feedback! This clearly shows that we should have more of such networking events for our members and encourages us to partner up with Greater Lantana Chamber of Commerce even more in the future.
