Hello! My name is Janette Kaasinen and I am the intern of the Finnish American Chamber of Commerce for the next six months. It is my third year studying international business (BBA) in Karelia University of Applied Sciences and I’m doing this internship as a part of my studies. I spent the last semester as an exchange student in Heilbronn, Germany, and that experience gave me the courage to apply for this amazing opportunity.
As always, my internship is shared between the FACC and the Honorary Consulate of Finland. My duties at the FACC consist of for example handling the membership issues and email, writing the minutes at board meetings, editing the monthly newsletter, marketing, planning and organizing events, and updating social media channels. For the Honorary Consulate of Finland my tasks are assisting the Honorary Consul Mr. Peter Makila, and helping and advising people, in consulate related matters, on the phone, through email and face-to-face.
I’m looking forward to be living in a new country again, and I want to get to know the American culture and its ways. I’m excited to learn new things and to develop my professional competencies, and I can’t wait to meet a lot of amazing people.
If you have any questions about the internship here at FACC do not hesitate to contact me through LinkedIn or email: email@example.com
I am just finishing up my first week here and I can already say that the next six months are going to be one of the best months in my life!
