FACC got a chance to be present at a great event organized by the Association of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce in Florida (ABiCC) on the 4th SAMSUNG CSCof May, 2015, the Inauguration of the 15th ABiCC World Business Month 2015. The event was held at the Double Tree Grand Hotel in Miami, and it was a chance for Chambers of Commerce from all around the world to network with each other and to let the participants taste delicacies from each Chambers’ home countries. ABiCC has 40 member organizations whose 10,000 members represent commerce and trade with more than 130 nations. Thus, the event had a truly international atmosphere.

FACC’s presence at the event was a great success. The chef Anne Kettunen had prepared amazing salmon treats and keeping up with the Vappu spirit (1st of May), sima, which is a Finnish beverage typically drank during the 1st of May celebrations. Thank you Anne for your amazing and hard work! Other countries, too, had put out their best: Peru’s Chamber offered delicious desserts and had even put together a memorable dance performance, Colombians served mouth-watering empanadas, El Salvador’s Chamber had all kinds of exotic delicacies, Romanians had traditional Romanian dessert and Norwegians served Scandinavian cinnamon buns just to name a few. Everyone enjoyed mixing and mingling while tasting food and wine from all around the world.

Besides the international food and wine tasting, there was a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that celebrated the co-operation between the different Chambers of Commerce in Florida. A board member from each Chamber got to cut the ribbon at the same time, which had symbolic value with regards to promoting, fostering and advancing the common interests of all bi-national Chambers of Commerce in Florida. This is, in fact, the mission of ABiCC.

ABiCC is the umbrella organization for the bi-national Chambers of Commerce in Florida and, thus, if you are our member you are automatically an ABiCC member too. The event raised a lot of interest among our members, and FACC arranged a minivan transportation from Lake Worth to the event in Miami. We were very happy to see so many of our members at the event – thank you for participating Amer Trading Inc., K.K. Car Co., USAsuomeksi, and The Spehar Firm!

I warmly encourage all our members to attend this event next year – it is a great chance to network and socialize with other members of different Chambers of Commerce and develop business contacts in the overseas countries represented by the bi-national Chambers while enjoying good food and nice atmosphere.
